Advancements Toward Clinical Excellence
The BSN-DNP Nurse Anesthesia Track is a 36 month (9 semesters) full time program beginning in January of each year.  The degree is offered to post baccalaureate nurses as an entry degree.
The program features advanced clinical and simulated education in peri-operative patient care, critical care medicine, and pain management.  Our focus is to train expert clinicians, who are prepared to become leaders and advocate for changes in health care systems.

The University of Miami is the most innovative private research university in the World.

The BSN-DNP Nurse Anesthesia Track is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA); the program is accredited through 2018. This accreditation permits graduates to take the National Certification Examination to obtain the CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) credential. The program is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Simulation Hospital at the School of Nursing and Health Studies

In Health Care Education Simulation Saves Lives

The Future of Nursing report calls for a revolution in the nursing profession in addressing the need for a larger and better-trained healthcare workforce; envisioning nurses as leaders in the healthcare arena and as integral members of healthcare teams, as a key strategy.  In a pioneering move, the University of Miami School of Nursing & Health Studies will open the nation’s first education-based Simulation Hospital. This revolutionary five-story, 39,000-square-foot facility will enable students and practitioners to be active rather than observational participants in patient care.

The facility will be the region’s foremost center for simulation immersion, and is designed to replicate a functioning outpatient clinic, hospital, and home environment, allowing for treatment of patients across the life-span continuum.
